Paolo Pellegrin was born in Rome in 1964. He has been winning prestigious prizes for his work since 1995. They include first prize in the 'Daily Life Category' at the World Press Photo awards (1995), the EuroFuji award (1996), first prize in the 'People in the News' category at the World Press Photo awards (2000) and the Leica Medal of Excellence (2001). In 2003 he became associate photographer for Magnum Photo and he has worked for Newsweek since 2000.
