Alex Majoli was born Ravenna in 1971 and currently divides his time between Milan and New York. From 1992 to 1993 he traveled in the former Yugoslavia documenting the war through photographic images. In 1994 Alex produced a photographic reportage which documented the atmosphere of the psychiatric hospital in Leros, Greece. Since 1996 he has been a member of Magnum Photos and he also works for a number of magazines including Newsweek, The New York Times Magazine and The National Geographic.
